The title race
One that’s front and centre in my mind, as I complete my commentary notes for Sunday’s Derby d’Italia, is this remarkable title race we have right now. To be able to make a case, in April, for any one of four teams winning the Scudetto is fantastic. I find myself wondering whether we could end up with it all going to the final day, and a helicopter Sunday in May – that would mean we’d truly had a title race for the ages.
Whatever way it goes, there’s a brilliant story waiting to be written. The Rossoneri revival complete? Napoli’s first title in more than 30 years? Back-to-back titles for Inter? One of the greatest ever comebacks from Juventus? It’s going to be so much fun seeing it all unfold – it’s at times like these I particularly enjoy being a Calcio neutral, able to enjoy it without the stress and pressure that a vested interest brings!
