Undercover Ultra: December 2021
Our man on the inside reports from around the world of Italian football's Ultras
Here’s our man undercover again with news from the world of Italian football’s Ultras. Let’s find out what they’ve been up to.
Bari - Vibonese: The Ultras are back
For Bari, the good days are back. To be honest, the team is already performing well this season and they’re top of the table in Serie C Group C, sitting six points clear of Monopoli and seven ahead of Palermo, they have the best squad in the league by far.
There should be no reason to be worried: the season is still very long, but this club is doing it right and should just keep up the good work to secure a promotion in May.
On top of all these things, something even more important happened: their Ultras are back. On November 14th, against Vibonese, after 614 days (almost 2 years) the famous Seguaci della Nord and all the related ultras group filled up Stadio San Nicola. Nearly 10,000 attended the match and the Curva was full again and was loud for all 90 minutes, the team won 2-0 and first place was secured.
Now, we are not saying that Bari will get promoted because of the Ultras, but without them, it’s just a good team with potential and nothing more. Ultras gives the city and team fuel, energy and spirit to do their jobs even better. And is good to see them back in the stands.
